Course description IPA 6543 Practicum clinique interne en counselling et psychothérapie de couple et de la famille (Partie 4 de 4): Consolidation and continued deepening of conceptualization and therapeutic skill development across a variety of client needs and presentations, and a variety of therapeutic modalities. Focus on individualized professional development, consolidation, and professional preparation and planning (reflection and discussion of counselling philosophy, and theoretical orientation informed by life experience and socio-cultural context). Graded P/F.
Prerequisite: IPA6542.
Required experience and qualifications:
- Graduate degree (minimum an MA in Counselling, Psychotherapy or related field).
- Registration with a professional College.
- Significant clinical experience relevant to program concentrations (i.e. working with couples and families, working with adult clients).
- Relevant pedagogical skills for teaching the Practicum and ability to coordinate with the clinical supervisors.
- Passive command of the second official language is required.
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and the concerns presented by students.
- Facility with online learning tools
