GP Strategies Government Solutions has a position opening for an Aviation Electrical Instructor with advanced aircraft electrical systems experience to join our training team.
The primary focus of this role is to develop, conduct and evaluate the effectiveness of technical training related to electrical systems installation and repair requirements. This focus requires the analyses of customer technical training needs to resolve appropriate electrical systems training content, objectives, and design. Additional duties of the role include research, courseware updates, continuous improvement, and the development of new media in support of customer training.
This position will be based in Jacksonville, FL (Cecil Field).
Major Task and Responsibilities:
• Instruct mechanics in the performance of electrical installations, repairs, and modifications on commercial and military aircraft Airframe and Flight Control systems.
• Complete all assigned work in a timely manner to support repair center training requirements.
• Ensure training and certification records are completed accurately and within prescribed timeframe.
• Highlight any issues associated with training plans, material, or other issues to Training Section Leadership.
• Independently assembles and conducts customer training in commercial and military aircraft electrical system subject areas using the appropriate medium to satisfy customer training requirements.
• Conducts analyses to evaluate customer technical training needs to determine appropriate training content, objectives, and design.
• Develops, conducts, and evaluates effectiveness of technical training.
• Uses specialized software to research, configure, maintain, update and develop new and existing media and materials.
• Travels for work 25% of the time.
• Adjust work hours on occasion to support customer training.
• Maintain a high standard of husbandry and cleanliness within assigned work areas.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes, and procedures.
• Report all incidents and occurrences in the Boeing Safety Management System.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• Experience in aircraft electrical systems installation, repair, maintenance, and modification (This is time you were the technician physically working on the airplane).
• Experience as a classroom instructor or conducting presentations
• Experience interpreting commercial technical data including electrical schematics, blueprints, drawings, maintenance and operations manuals, sketches, and written and verbal instructions, in English.
• Ability to work different shifts as required by business need
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Stand-Up Instructor led Training in support of commercial and military aircraft electrical systems installation, repair, maintenance, modification, and assembly operations (e.g., wire harness components, connections, fiber, routing, installation)
• Prefer specific knowledge in systems such as Flight Controls, Rigs, Environmental Control Systems, Avionics, Wire Harness Installation and routing, and APU operations.
• A&P license preferable

- Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Fingering (typing), communicating, repetitive motions.
- Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read. May need to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a virtual setting.
- Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.
