The countdown is on! This November, two brand-new Hilton hotels open their doors under one roof in the heart of Downtown San Diego, and we want you there on opening day. Rising 16 stories above the city with 263 rooms, our hotels have views stretching from Coronado to Point Loma to La Jolla, plus a rooftop bar and pool that will be one of downtown's hottest spots. We're building our opening team right now, so this is your chance to get in on the ground floor with a world-class brand. Bring your energy and personality, and we'll bring the training, the growth opportunities, and the Hilton team member perks. No two days are the same, and you'll never forget opening day. Apply now and help us make history in America's Finest City!
About Us: Founded in 1985, Baxter Hotel Group is a San Diego based family-owned hospitality and real estate investment company with a strong presence across the U.S. and Canada. For more than 40 years, we’ve built a reputation for developing and operating top-branded hotels and trend-forward restaurants in some of the most desirable locations. With four successful properties in our growing portfolio, we’re excited to expand once again and we're looking for passionate people to grow with us.
Position Summary: Picture your kitchen: on the 16th floor - sunshine, ocean breezes and some of the best views in San Diego! You’ll cook up the food that makes one of downtown’s newest hangouts a place guests want to stay. You’ll turn out creative, crave-worthy bar bites and shareable plates, fast, fresh and plated to impress, whether guests are snacking at the bar, lounging poolside or catching the sunset with friends. You take pride in great flavor, a clean station and keeping tickets moving on a busy night. You bring Tru spirit, energy and great food. Let the view do the rest.
What You Will Do:
- Fire up the kitchen each day by setting up your station and prepping everything you need for a great service.
- Prep, cook and plate creative bar bites and shareable plates to our recipe and presentation standards.
- Work both of our kitchens: prep and production in the 1st-floor kitchen, and finishing and service in the 16th-floor rooftop kitchen.
- Stock the rooftop kitchen to par before service, restock it during the rush, and move food safely between floors.
- Stay in sync with the other kitchen and the front-of-house team by radio, so tickets and food keep moving smoothly.
- Keep tickets moving and orders accurate when the rooftop is buzzing.
- Master our menu, recipes and plating, and help bring new ideas to the table.
- Prep smart, making just what’s needed so everything stays fresh and nothing goes to waste, and set tomorrow’s team up with advance prep.
- Follow food safety rules, including temperature control, labeling and dating, and safe holding and transport between kitchens.
- Receive and put away deliveries, rotating stock first in, first out.
- Take pride in a spotless station, and pitch in on opening, closing and deep-cleaning duties to meet health department and Hilton standards.
- Follow safety and emergency procedures to keep yourself and your team safe.
- Jump in wherever the team needs you, especially on high-volume nights and during private events.
