The Lumistella Company is a global intellectual property company dedicated to bringing Santa’s North Pole to life for children around the world through consumer products, original entertainment and brand experiences. We are home to the most iconic and beloved Christmas brands of this generation including The Elf on the Shelf, Elf Pets, and Elf Mates.

The Executive Director, Experiences & Activations leads the planning, coordination, and execution of Lumistella's experience- and activation-based commercialization opportunities. This role serves as the central business owner responsible for guiding opportunities from concept through delivery while ensuring alignment with franchise strategy, commercial objectives, creative vision, and brand standards.

Working across the enterprise, the Executive Director brings together internal stakeholders and external partners to create engaging, high-quality experiences that deepen consumer participation, strengthen partner relationships, and advance Lumistella's Franchise Commercialization strategy.

The Executive Director, Experiences & Activations will:

  • Commercial Opportunity Leadership
  • Serve as the business owner for assigned experience and activation opportunities from initial concept through execution and post-project evaluation.
  • Shepherd opportunities through the commercialization lifecycle by establishing clear objectives, coordinating stakeholders, managing timelines, resolving issues, and maintaining forward momentum.
  • Evaluate new opportunities, recommend appropriate paths forward, and ensure alignment with Lumistella's strategic priorities and commercial objectives.
  • Balance multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining visibility, accountability, and communication across the organization.
  • Experiences & Activations Portfolio Management
  • Lead Lumistella's portfolio of consumer experiences, franchise activations, corporate events, employee events, executive events, trade shows, and other strategic engagement opportunities.
  • Oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, partner coordination, and execution to ensure successful delivery of each initiative.
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve the quality, consistency, organization, and impact of Lumistella's experiences and activations.
  • Maintain an integrated view of the portfolio to proactively manage priorities, dependencies, and resource requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination across internal business functions throughout the planning and delivery of experiences and activations.
  • Build strong partnerships with Creative, Story, Consumer Products, Marketing, Franchise Development, Legal, Finance, Operations, Philanthropy, Executive Leadership, and other key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate decision-making, resolve cross-functional issues, and ensure organizational alignment throughout the lifecycle of each opportunity.
  • Foster a collaborative working environment that enables teams to deliver integrated franchise experiences.
  • Experience Development & Story Integration
  • Partner closely with Creative, Art, Brand, and Story teams to develop engaging, high-quality franchise experiences.
  • Ensure storytelling is thoughtfully integrated throughout the guest journey by identifying key experience moments where narrative, character engagement, and emotional connection enhance participation and strengthen the franchise.
  • Provide creative leadership throughout concept development, experience design, creative review, refinement, and execution while respecting established creative governance and approval processes.
  • Develop creative briefs and collaborate with internal creative teams to ensure experiences align with franchise strategy, brand standards, and commercial objectives.
  • Partner & Account Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners, agencies, production partners, venues, vendors, licensees, and other organizations supporting Lumistella's Experiences & Activations portfolio.
  • Serve as the primary business contact for assigned accounts and partners, ensuring effective communication, accountability, and successful collaboration.
  • Represent Lumistella with professionalism while protecting the company's brand standards, strategic interests, and commercial objectives.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Lead the day-to-day management of assigned initiatives through disciplined planning, budgeting, scheduling, communication, documentation, and risk management.
  • Improve visibility, organization, reporting, and execution across the Experiences & Activations portfolio.
  • Establish practical tools, processes, and operating disciplines that improve consistency and support future organizational growth.
  • Monitor project performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Strong communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, vendors, and external partnerships.
  • Experience working within an intellectual property, entertainment, franchise, or consumer products environment is highly desirable.
  • Protects company assets through the proper management of asset files and adherence to company policy with regard to information security and management.
  • This position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and does not include relocation assistance. Candidates must be able to relocate at their own expense if selected.

Education requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field such as Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Entertainment Management required. Advanced degree preferred.
