Job Description
The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of the manufacturing facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while meeting production, quality, delivery, and financial objectives. The Plant Manager leads all plant functions including production, maintenance, quality, engineering, safety, and workforce development to achieve company goals and customer requirements.
Requirements:Direct and oversee all daily plant operations to achieve production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements and promote a zero-incident safety culture.
Lead and develop production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and support department managers and supervisors.
Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) including safety, quality, productivity, scrap, downtime, overtime, and on-time delivery.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
Manage plant budgets, labor costs, overtime utilization, and operating expenses to meet financial targets.
Coordinate with sales, supply chain, and customer service teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
Support new product launches, process improvements, automation projects, and capital investment activities.
Review production performance daily and implement corrective actions when targets are not achieved.
Ensure proper staffing, training, succession planning, and employee engagement across all shifts.
Participate in customer visits, audits, and corrective action activities as required.
Maintain compliance with company policies, labor regulations, and quality management systems (IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 as applicable).
Required Skills/Abilities:
Minimum 3–5 years managing a manufacturing plant or major production operation.
Experience in metal forging, machining, automotive, heavy industrial, or similar high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong knowledge of production planning, maintenance systems, quality systems, and cost control.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Management/Engineering or related field, preferred.
Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred
Experience with IATF 16949 and automotive customer requirements.
Experience leading automation, capital projects, or major operational improvements.
