We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice Chaplain to provide emotional and spiritual support to hospice patients and their families throughout end-of-life care. The Chaplain is an essential member of the interdisciplinary hospice team and supports patients of all faiths, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds. The ideal candidate is empathetic, patient-centered, and comfortable providing spiritual counseling, grief support, and compassionate presence during difficult transitions.
Compensation & Schedule
· Base hourly rate: $35.00–$38.00 per hour, based on direct hospice experience
· Flexible schedule available Monday–Sunday, with days and hours varying based on patient needs and census demands.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual and emotional support to hospice patients and families
- Complete spiritual assessments and develop individualized plans of care
- Participate in interdisciplinary group (IDG/IDT) meetings
- Offer grief support and bereavement services to families and caregivers
- Coordinate with community clergy and spiritual resources as appropriate
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support during end-of-life transitions
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Support patients and families regardless of religious affiliation or beliefs
- Educate staff on spiritual care needs and cultural sensitivity
- Master’s degree in divinity, Theology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) or equivalent certification from a recognized spiritual care organization.
- Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units
- BLS certification
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in hospice, palliative care, hospital, or healthcare chaplaincy preferred
- Experience working with terminally ill patients and families preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
