Quant Developer (FinTech)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Quant Developer (FinTech) based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to build sophisticated financial technology solutions that power trading, analytics, and risk management platforms.
You will work at the intersection of software engineering, quantitative finance, and financial markets to develop high-performance systems.
The position focuses on translating complex mathematical models into reliable, production-ready applications.
You will collaborate closely with quantitative researchers, traders, engineers, and business stakeholders to solve challenging problems.

Accountabilities:

The Quant Developer will design, develop, and optimize high-performance software solutions for fintech applications, supporting trading, risk, and analytics capabilities. This role requires strong technical expertise, quantitative understanding, and the ability to deliver reliable systems in a fast-paced financial environment.

  • Build and maintain low-latency, high-reliability trading, risk, and analytics systems.
  • Translate quantitative models and financial strategies into scalable production software.
  • Partner with quantitative teams, traders, and business stakeholders to develop effective technology solutions.
  • Design and implement high-throughput systems with strong performance and operational reliability.
  • Develop software using languages such as C++, Java, and Python.
  • Work with market data systems, financial instruments, and trading infrastructure.
  • Implement and improve systems supporting risk calculations, P&L attribution, and financial analytics.
  • Apply advanced debugging, profiling, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and engineering best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving development standards and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering expertise with quantitative finance knowledge and experience building production-grade financial systems. They should have a passion for solving complex technical challenges while maintaining high standards for performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative discipline.
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience in fintech environments.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Java, or Python, preferably with experience in multiple languages.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, trading instruments, and quantitative methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience developing low-latency and high-throughput systems.
  • Experience working with market data platforms and FIX protocol implementations.
  • Strong understanding of risk management concepts and P&L attribution.
  • Experience with concurrency, high-performance computing patterns, and system optimization.
  • Strong debugging, profiling, and performance tuning abilities.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with derivatives pricing libraries such as QuantLib is preferred.
  • Familiarity with kdb+/q or similar columnar tick databases is a plus.
  • Exposure to GPU-accelerated pricing, risk computation, or cloud-native fintech architectures is highly desirable.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field is preferred.
Benefits:
