Staff Auditor

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Auditor based in United States.

Accountabilities:

The Staff Auditor will support audit and accounting engagements by performing detailed financial analysis, documenting procedures, identifying risks, and assisting with client deliverables. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with supervisors and client teams.

  • Prepare financial audit reports and supporting documentation.
  • Perform audit planning activities, analytical procedures, and testing of internal controls.
  • Execute audit procedures, identify areas of risk, and communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed working papers that document audit tests, procedures performed, and conclusions reached.
  • Manage assigned workloads, track deadlines, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Support client communication and maintain strong professional relationships with guidance from supervisors.
  • Assist with internal projects, record-keeping activities, and additional accounting-related assignments as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client processes and provide additional advisory support when appropriate.
  • Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, to support accounting service activities.
  • Apply audit technology tools to improve efficiency and accuracy throughout engagements.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, audit methodologies, and financial reporting practices. Candidates should be proactive problem-solvers who are comfortable working with financial data, technology tools, and client-facing responsibilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA designation is advantageous.
  • 2–5 years of experience working with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience supporting audit engagements, financial reporting, or accounting services.
  • Experience with government enterprise organizations, nonprofit organizations, or federally funded entities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements is a plus.
  • Experience using audit software, particularly Thomson Reuters AdvanceFlow, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership of assignments and deliverables.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently while meeting deadlines.
