Job Description

Description:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for employing Six Sigma methodologies to enhance manufacturing processes, focusing on quality improvement, speed enhancement, and cost reduction. This role involves data-driven decision-making and documentation to communicate results effectively.

Responsible for establishing and continuously improving the Die Cast and supporting processes and establishing and maintaining machine and tool capability through the use of statistical engineering methods and problem-solving techniques. Responsibility includes providing documentation and training as required assuring the proper actions by Die Cast, Machining, and support personnel, as well as, advising and implementing revisions necessary to maintain and improve these processes.

· Must focus on preventing defects from occurring by identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions and is primarily accountable for establishing and assuring means to control a die cast process in order to provide a quality product to both internal and external customers on a timely basis.

· Ability to define problems, to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Requirements:

Academic Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree from 4 yr. college or university, prefer Mechanical, Electrical, technical/engineering degree; or 3-5 yrs. experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills & Experience

· Lean manufacturing experience preferred: Six Sigma, DMAIC or similar problem-solving methodology experience.

· Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Solid Works, Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Working knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
