Job Summary

Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.

Essential Functions

• Performs a variety of laboratory experiments such as histology, flow cytometry, functional studies, molecular techniques, gene sequencing, and related technical functions, testing, troubleshooting, and analysis. Ensures conformity to specifications.
• Identifies and prepares specimens for cell separation and histology.
• Oversees supply management: ordering, procurement, tracking estimates, and receiving items.
• Operates and maintains applicable laboratory equipment for job functions.

• Keeps detailed, accurate, and timely data and log books. Organizes, documents, and analyzes results.

• Maintains, calibrates, cleans, and tests sterility of laboratory equipment.
• Trains students and laboratory personnel.

Physical Effort

The position is primarily sedentary but may require walking to other collaboration areas.
