The mission of the Art Director at Cozey

We're looking for an Art Director who's a visionary conceptual thinker, who can translate brand and creative strategies into stunning and compelling content that is visually impactful and tells a memorable story. You are an expert in developing visual approaches that go beyond beautiful photography, to connect brand and product attributes with human insights and emotion, with detail-oriented thinking, impeccable taste levels, cultural savvy, and the necessary technical know-how to turn these ambitious concepts into reality. You will lead art direction on all brand creative projects from start to finish, from ideation, presentation, iteration, planning, and execution.

You're someone with relentless curiosity about brands, product design, web design, technology, home decor, fashion, art, pop culture, films, music, retail, and marketing. You have strong graphic design skills, technical knowledge of post-production techniques and processes, presentation skills, and deep understanding of what makes strong creative effective. You are also a champion of AI innovation, and the creative possibilities it unlocks.

What you'll be doing

• Shape Cozey's visual universe by curating furniture and set styling, model casting, and location sourcing that reflect our most aspirational customer personas and keep our brand instantly recognizable.
• Raise the bar on execution by directing every shoot on set and guiding post-production treatment, so photo and graphic output consistently meets Cozey's visual standard.
• Push the creative ceiling by championing AI tools and techniques that unlock concepts too ambitious, or too costly, for traditional production.
• Maximize creative impact by partnering with the Brand Manager, Brand Designer, Brand Events Coordinator, Video Art Director, and VP of Creative Marketing to build 360° concepts across web experiences, digital communication, retail and brand events, and mass paid advertising.
• Keep the broader team aligned on creative direction by communicating concepts and objectives clearly, and presenting work in a way that builds conviction and buy-in.
• Stay ahead of the curve by tracking trends across product design, fashion, art, film, and pop culture, and translating outside inspiration into fresh, on-brand creative territory for Cozey.

We'd love to hear from you if you have

• 7+ years of experience in art direction, with a strong 360° portfolio built at a top-tier creative studio, agency, or elevated lifestyle brand, taking concepts from ideation through final execution; experience directing for a home, lifestyle, or DTC brand is a strong asset.
• Exceptional analytical thinking and communication skills, paired with a sharp, current read on brands, culture, marketing, and home and design trends, and the instinct to translate them into art direction the whole team can rally around.
• Hands-on experience with, and genuine enthusiasm for, AI image generation, using it to unlock concepts and speed that traditional production can't match on its own.
• Comfort working with ambiguity, turning loose creative briefs into clear direction and making the confident calls that keep a project moving.
