About Press Glass

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY: The Quality Lab Operator is responsible for conducting tests on raw materials and checking quality of products.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct Mixing Control of Sealing Test:
- Check temperature and enter information into chart.
- Control quality of the sealing mass by visual check.
- Calculate silicone weight and compare to company standards.
- Conduct the Butyl Replacement and Quality Report:
- Enter information to the chart regarding serial number of butyl and machine.
- Weigh the butyl with spacer bar.
- Prepare Quality test of butyl.
- Conduct Desiccant Quality Control Test:
- Take sample of the raw material from production machine.
- Check temperature and weight of desiccant
- Complete the report.
- Communicate with production regarding any changes in the raw materials.
- Conduct Spacer Bars Control Test:
- Take the dimensions of the spacer and compare with the information in production software.
- Check quality of the spacers including corner shaping, printing, connection, edge after cutting.
- Conduct the Lamination Test:
- Conduct the ball drop test, the pummel test and the bake test.
- Related Testing Functions:
- Follow all testing instructions.
- Notify Quality & Technical Support Manager or Production Manager regarding any test abnormality.
- Complete electronic reports based on the paper charts.
- Calibrate measurement tools.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma required; additional education is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Good written communication skills.
- Good math skills (adding, multiplying, dividing)
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, Outlook) with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Metric measurement reading and understanding is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Requires regular sitting, reaching, walking, talking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling and keyboarding.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Includes close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision with ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential function of this job.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
Schedule: M-F 6a-2p
