Job Description
We're looking for a Manufacturing ERP & Engineering Specialist to be the connective tissue of our plant — the person who links engineering, production, sales, purchasing, and accounting through a well-run ERP system. If you like variety, want your work to touch nearly every part of the business, and get satisfaction from turning messy data into clean, reliable numbers, this role was built for you.
You'll build and maintain the engineering data (parts, BOMs, routings) that keeps jobs moving, troubleshoot the ERP processes that carry a job from quote to cash, and own the accuracy of job costs, WIP, and inventory. It's a hands-on role with real ownership — you'll see the direct results of your work on the shop floor and in the numbers.
What You'll DoERP & Quote-to-Cash
- Keep quoting, order entry, scheduling, purchasing, shipping, and invoicing running smoothly in the ERP system
- Troubleshoot transaction and process issues, and partner across Sales, Production, Purchasing, Shipping, and Accounting to fix them
- Build reports, queries, and dashboards that give the business better visibility
- Support ERP upgrades, testing, and continuous improvement projects
Engineering
- Create and maintain part numbers, revisions, BOMs, routings, and manufacturing methods
- Develop manufacturing processes and operation sequences, and help estimate labor, material, and subcontract needs
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes, and validate setup/costing before release to production
Inventory & Job Costing
- Analyze job costs, WIP, and manufacturing variances — and own getting period-end right
- Compare estimated vs. actual labor, material, and burden costs, and dig into discrepancies
- Support cycle counts and physical inventories, and help resolve inventory exceptions
- Spot trends and opportunities to improve cost accuracy, inventory control, and data integrity
- Experience working in a manufacturing ERP system
- Background in manufacturing or production engineering
- Solid grasp of Quote-to-Cash workflows and how BOMs, routings, and part revisions come together
- Comfort with job costing, WIP, inventory transactions, and manufacturing variances
- A sharp analytical eye — you notice discrepancies and dig for root causes
- Strong communication skills and the organization to juggle competing priorities
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field
- Experience with Epicor Kinetic or another Epicor ERP platform
- SQL, BAQ, or dashboard/reporting experience
- Experience supporting ERP implementations or process improvements
- Familiarity with manufacturing period-end processes (WIP, inventory, variances)
