This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Data Migration Consultant – SAP S/4HANA based in India.

This is a senior consulting opportunity for an experienced SAP professional to lead complex data migration initiatives across S/4HANA implementation and transformation programs. You’ll take ownership of migration strategy, planning, execution, data quality, and cutover activities from end to end. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with client engagement, stakeholder management, and team leadership. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical teams to ensure critical data is accurately transformed and migrated. Your expertise will help organizations transition to modern SAP environments while protecting data integrity and business continuity. This role is ideal for a seasoned SAP migration specialist who enjoys solving complex data challenges and leading teams through high-impact transformation projects.

• Lead end-to-end data migration activities for SAP S/4HANA implementation and transformation projects.

• Define and execute comprehensive data migration strategies, plans, timelines, and delivery approaches.

• Work hands-on with LTMC (Legacy Transfer Migration Cockpit) and SAP Data Migration Cockpit (DMC) to execute migration activities.

• Manage the complete data migration lifecycle, including extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and loading.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional consultants, technical teams, and customers to understand migration requirements and ensure data quality.

• Lead client-facing data migration workshops, gather requirements, and translate business needs into effective migration solutions.

• Develop and maintain data mapping, transformation, reconciliation, and validation processes.

• Plan and execute mock loads, trial migrations, migration cycles, and final cutover activities.

• Ensure data integrity, consistency, accuracy, security, and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve migration defects, data issues, and technical challenges.

• Provide regular project status updates, risks, dependencies, and progress reports to stakeholders and leadership.

• Mentor and guide data migration team members, promoting strong delivery practices and technical quality.

• Contribute to migration governance and continuous improvement across SAP transformation programs.

• 12+ years of overall SAP experience, with significant experience in SAP data migration.

• Strong hands-on experience delivering SAP S/4HANA data migration projects.

• Proven expertise with LTMC (Legacy Transfer Migration Cockpit) and SAP Data Migration Cockpit (DMC).

• Experience working on large-scale SAP data migration programs involving complex datasets and business processes.

• Strong understanding of SAP tables, data structures, migration objects, and data dependencies.

• Hands-on experience with data mapping, data cleansing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.

• Knowledge of LSMW, ETL tools, or other data migration technologies is advantageous.

• Experience working across multiple SAP S/4HANA implementation or conversion projects is preferred.

• Knowledge of the SAP Activate methodology is desirable.

• Strong understanding of data migration governance and cutover planning.

• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring data migration teams.

• Excellent customer-facing and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience level: Senior leadership/consulting position requiring 12+ years of SAP experience.
