Program Director

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Program Director based in the United States.

This remote leadership role provides strategic direction and operational oversight for a mission-driven program focused on strengthening pastoral leadership and community engagement.
You will guide the program from development through implementation, evaluation, and long-term sustainability.
The role combines relationship-building, program strategy, participant engagement, curriculum development, and operational management.
You will collaborate with pastoral leaders, congregations, facilitators, coaches, subject matter experts, funders, and internal teams.
Success requires balancing relational leadership with strong organization, accountability, and consistent execution across a multi-phase initiative.
The position offers an opportunity to support Latino/a pastoral leadership and help faith communities translate their values into meaningful community development.
It is ideal for a bilingual, culturally attuned leader who is passionate about faith-based work, Christian Community Development, and developing people and organizations.

Accountabilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the program, establishing goals, priorities, implementation plans, timelines, and operating processes.

  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for program quality, effectiveness, implementation, outcomes, and long-term sustainability.

  • Continuously evaluate and refine the program model using participant feedback, evaluation findings, emerging needs, and lessons learned.

  • Recruit and select participants while building and maintaining trusted relationships with pastoral leaders and congregations.

  • Provide ongoing participant support, accompaniment, guidance, and communication throughout the program lifecycle.

  • Lead or facilitate cohort learning experiences and coordinate facilitators, coaches, consultants, and subject matter experts.

  • Develop and refine curricula, workbooks, discussion guides, and other learning resources focused on dialogical preaching, adult learning, and Christian Community Development.

  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, timelines, and expectations for staff and contracted contributors.

  • Oversee program logistics, cohort sessions, events, grants, documentation, records, budgets, and expense tracking.

  • Ensure program activities comply with applicable organizational policies, regulations, funder expectations, and quality standards.

  • Maintain clear communication with participants, congregations, facilitators, partners, and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate on program communications, including impact stories, participant highlights, presentations, written resources, and conference materials.

  • Manage grant reporting requirements and contribute program expertise, outcomes, stories, and materials to fundraising and donor engagement efforts.

  • Develop and maintain a sustainability strategy in collaboration with organizational leadership and program partners.

  • Identify program opportunities, challenges, and risks and develop practical strategies to address them.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Divinity, Ministry, Social Sciences, Administration, Education, Business, or a related field.

  • More than 5 years of experience working directly with faith-based organizations, pastoral leaders, or diverse denominations.

  • Experience in program coordination, program management, community development, leadership development, or a related discipline.

  • Fluent English and Spanish communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of and passion for Latino/a pastoral leadership, Christian Community Development, and faith-based community engagement.

  • Demonstrated ability to build authentic relationships and maintain strong relational networks across diverse communities and organizations.

  • Experience facilitating learning experiences, coaching, or accompanying leaders in relational, participatory, culturally responsive, and theologically grounded settings.

  • Strong project management, organizational, prioritization, and multitasking capabilities.

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and stakeholder communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively across organizational and institutional boundaries and collaborate with diverse teams.

  • Strong technology skills and proficiency with relevant project management and productivity systems.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, adaptability, and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, accountability, and mission-driven work.

  • A Master’s degree in Divinity, Ministry, Social Sciences, Education, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

  • 7+ years of program leadership experience is preferred.
