Position Summary

Project Controls Lead is a critical role in ensuring project success by providing strategic oversight of cost, schedule, and risk, enabling informed decision-making, and maintaining alignment across project teams and stakeholders. By combining technical expertise, leadership, and analytical skills, the Project Controls Lead ensures projects are delivered efficiently, within budget, and meet organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules, including baseline, forecast, and updates. Coordinating with project managers and discipline leads to ensure accurate timelines and dependencies. 
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial performance. Perform earned value management (EVM) and variance analysis (CPI, SPI), 
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess project risks, develop mitigation plans, and maintain risk registers 
  • Change and Scope Control: Track change orders and assess their impact on scope, cost, and schedule 
  • Reporting and Performance Tracking: Generate accurate and timely reports on project performance, trends, and KPIs. Present dashboards and insights to stakeholders for data-driven decision-making.
  • Process Compliance: Ensure project controls processes aligned with organizational standards and best practices. Support audits and provide documentation for governance reviews.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project controls personnel, providing guidance to less experienced team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, or project management support.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls methodologies earned value management, and planning techniques.
