Job Description
The Transportation Specialist supports and coordinates domestic and international transportation, logistics, and customs brokerage activities for Safran Aircraft Engines. The role ensures timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of parts and materials across North America and between the U.S. and France. The position serves as the primary transportation contact for U.S. operations and works closely with suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
Transportation Operations
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including imports and exports.
• Support transportation activities between the U.S., France, Mexico, and Canada.
• Work with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate supplier pickups and transportation of components and modules.
• Monitor shipments and resolve transportation issues proactively.
Transportation Coordination & Support
• Serve as the primary U.S. point of contact for transportation-related activities.
• Partner with logistics and transportation teams in France to ensure alignment and execution.
• Support escalation management for urgent and delayed shipments.
Critical Logistics Support
• Coordinate time-sensitive and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) shipments.
• Expedite critical deliveries and implement alternate transportation solutions when necessary.
• Support MRO logistics activities and issue resolution.
Compliance & Performance
• Ensure shipping documentation is accurate and supports import/export requirements.
• Assist with customs clearance and transportation compliance activities.
• Track transportation performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Job Requirements
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience
• 3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments.
• Experience working with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, or logistics providers.
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge & Skills
• Knowledge of transportation and logistics processes.
• Understanding of import/export documentation and transportation compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/TMS systems.
• Fluent in English.

Experience - Nice to Have
• Experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of U.S., Canadian, Mexican, and European customs regulations.
• Experience supporting AOG or other time-critical logistics operations.
• APICS, CSCP, CPSM, or similar supply chain certification.
• French language proficiency.
• Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and transportation analytics.
