We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cook to join our dynamic culinary team in Wilmington, NC. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Execute menu planning by following detailed recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency across all meals.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and food production machinery.
- Maintain strict food safety sanitizing procedures to uphold health regulations and prevent contamination.
- Assist with food handling, storage, and inventory management to minimize waste and optimize ingredients usage.
- Support high-volume food production during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members on meal preparation for catering events or large-scale service needs.
Skills
- Proven experience as a cook with a strong background in fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety management and sanitizing procedures.
- Skilled in various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and other culinary methods.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients.
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food presentation standards.
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of food handling regulations within the food industry or restaurant environment.
- Capable of working under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced settings.
- Effective team player with good communication skills who is dedicated to serving quality meals with enthusiasm.
Requirements
Previous cook experience required.
Valid Food Handler Certificate (FHC) required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
