Job Description

OUR STORY

Victory Cruise Lines is a purpose-driven, American-owned and employee-owned cruise line founded by industry icon John Waggoner.

We operate intimate cruise ships throughout the Great Lakes, Canadian Maritimes, and Eastern Seaboard, delivering immersive, culturally rich experiences that connect guests with history, destination, and one another.

Our team members don't just sell cruises—they help guests plan journeys they will remember for a lifetime.

If you're a sales professional who loves the phone, enjoys the pursuit, and gets satisfaction from turning an inquiry into a booking, we'd love to hear from you.

Come Celebrate the Victory with us.

OUR VALUES

Safety First | Teamwork | Integrity | Service Excellence | Innovation | Having Fun & Celebrating the Victories

Victory Cruise Lines is more than a workplace—we are a community of professionals who care deeply about what we do, who we serve, and how we show up for one another.

THE POSITION

Our Cruise Sales Advisors are sales professionals first.

This is a 100% phone-based reservations sales role responsible for converting prospective guest inquiries and sales leads into cruise bookings through inbound and outbound phone activity.

You will build relationships with prospective guests, identify their needs, discuss itineraries and pricing, recognize buying signals, overcome objections, create urgency, follow up persistently, and confidently ask for the deposit and close the sale.

This is not passive order-taking. Our Cruise Sales Advisors own their leads, manage their pipeline, and are accountable for producing results.

Base Salary: $50,000

IN ADDITION TO base salary, this position is eligible for commissions and performance incentives, providing unlimited earning potential for high-performing advisors.

HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED

Success in this position is measured by results. Everyone has a number—and in this role, your results matter.

Cruise Sales Advisors are expected to meet established performance standards related to:

Sales Conversion | Revenue Production | Outbound Activity | Lead Follow-Up | Call Activity | Overall Sales Effectiveness

Top performers don't simply wait for the next inbound call. They actively manage their pipeline, consistently follow up on viable opportunities, create additional sales opportunities through outbound activity, and confidently move prospective guests toward a decision.

WHAT THIS ROLE REALLY LOOKS LIKE

Successful Cruise Sales Advisors spend the majority of their workday:

  • Handling inbound sales calls from prospective guests
  • Proactively making outbound calls to follow up on quotes, lead requests, previous inquiries, and other sales opportunities
  • Managing and working an active pipeline of leads
  • Following up consistently—and persistently—on viable opportunities
  • Discussing itineraries, pricing, promotions, and availability
  • Recognizing buying signals and creating appropriate urgency
  • Navigating hesitation and overcoming objections
  • Asking for the deposit, asking for the sale, and CLOSING
  • Working within reservation and CRM systems while actively speaking with guests

This is not primarily an email, chat, administrative, or customer service role.

If you are energized by sales goals, enjoy spending your day on the phone, naturally follow up on opportunities, and get satisfaction from turning a lead into a booking, you'll likely thrive here.

WHAT GREAT CRUISE SALES ADVISORS DO

Successful advisors:

  • Consistently perform against defined sales KPIs, including conversion, revenue production, outbound activity, lead follow-up, and other measurable sales targets
  • Recognize buying signals, create a sense of urgency, overcome objections, and confidently ask guests to make a deposit and secure their cruise
  • Build rapport and trust quickly with prospective guests
  • Confidently discuss pricing, promotions, itinerary options, and availability
  • Take ownership of their leads and actively manage their sales pipeline
  • Follow up consistently rather than waiting for prospective guests to call back
  • Are comfortable hearing “no,” navigating hesitation and objections, and continuing to pursue viable opportunities without becoming discouraged
  • Know when and how to ask for the sale
  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience throughout the sales process
  • Navigate reservation and CRM systems effectively while speaking with guests
  • Maintain accurate sales records and documentation
  • Take personal accountability for their results
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

This is not:

  • A passive order-taking position
  • A customer service-only role
  • A primarily email or chat-based position
  • A role where you wait for the phone to ring
  • A role for someone uncomfortable making outbound sales calls
  • A role for someone uncomfortable discussing pricing or asking for a deposit
  • A role for someone who gives up on a viable lead after one attempt
  • A role for someone who dislikes sales goals, KPIs, or individual accountability
  • A role for someone uncomfortable asking for the sale and closing business
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role requires the ability and willingness to work schedules that support our guests and sales opportunities, which may include evenings and weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays, based on business needs.

This position may be eligible for remote work in approved states.

IMPORTANT: Candidates located within commuting distance of our New Albany, Indiana / Metro Louisville, Kentucky area or within approximately 45 miles of our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office may be expected to work in-office at some point.
