THE POSITIONOur Cruise Sales Advisors are sales professionals first. This role is responsible for converting inquiries into bookings through inbound and outbound phone sales activities. You will work directly with prospective guests, answer questions, overcome objections, guide purchasing decisions, and confidently ask for the sale.
Base Salary: $50,000
IN ADDITION TO base salary, this position is eligible for commissions and performance incentives, providing meaningful earning potential for high-performing advisors.
WORK ENVIRONMENTEvening and weekend availability (including Saturdays and Sundays) may be required based on business needs. We would love to find the perfect candidate in the Mountain or Pacific time zones and/or willing to work those hours if located in other time zones.
WHAT THIS ROLE REALLY LOOKS LIKEThis is a phone-based sales position.
Successful advisors spend the majority of their workday:
• Handling inbound sales calls
• Making outbound follow-up calls
• Following up on quotes and leads
• Discussing pricing and promotions
• Overcoming objections
• Asking for the sale & CLOSING!!!
• Working within reservation and CRM systems while actively speaking with guests
This is not primarily an email, chat, administrative, or customer service role. If you enjoy talking with people, building relationships, and closing sales, you'll likely thrive in this environment.
WHAT GREAT CRUISE SALES ADVISORS DOSuccessful advisors in this role:
• Convert inquiries into cruise bookings
• Build rapport and trust with prospective guests
• Confidently discuss pricing, promotions, and itinerary options
• Follow up consistently with leads and opportunities
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences before, during, and after the booking process
• Navigate reservation and CRM systems while speaking with guests
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Contribute to sales goals and revenue targets
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT• Not a passive order-taking position
• Not a customer service-only role
• Not a role for someone uncomfortable discussing pricing
• Not a role for someone who prefers email communication over phone conversations
• Not a role for someone who dislikes sales goals, follow-up, or asking for the sale / closing deals
SKILLS & ABILITIES• Strong phone sales and closing ability
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Comfortable spending most of the workday on the phone
• Ability to build rapport quickly and professionally
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Comfortable navigating CRM and reservation systems while speaking with guests
• Results-oriented and self-motivated
EXPERIENCE• 2+ years of phone-based sales experience required
• Cruise industry sales experience strongly preferred
• Travel industry sales experience preferred
• Inside sales or call center sales experience preferred
