Job Description

Medical Gas Service TechnicianJoin a Team That Protects Hospitals. Builds Trust. And Invests in People.

At CHT, we're more than a medical gas compliance company—we're a service company trusted by healthcare facilities across the country to help keep hospitals safe, compliant, and ready when it matters most.

Every inspection, repair, and recommendation we make helps protect patients, support healthcare professionals, and ensure critical medical gas systems operate safely and reliably. It's work that matters, and we take pride in doing it the right way.

Just as importantly, we believe great service starts with great people.

We're building a company where people come before positions, accountability is expected, communication is honest, and every team member has the opportunity to grow. We work hard, support one another, celebrate wins together, and continually look for ways to improve.

Whether you're an experienced technician or someone with strong mechanical aptitude looking for a new career, we'll provide the training, certifications, and support you need to succeed.

If you're dependable, enjoy solving problems, like working with your hands, and want your work to make a real difference, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As a Service Technician, you'll travel to healthcare facilities throughout the country to inspect, test, maintain, and repair medical gas systems that hospitals depend on every day.

You'll become a trusted resource for our customers by delivering quality workmanship, communicating professionally, and helping facilities remain safe and compliant.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair medical piped gas systems

  • Perform annual inspections and preventative maintenance

  • Conduct environmental monitoring services

  • Identify repair opportunities and system improvements

  • Complete accurate service reports and documentation

  • Maintain customer records and inspection databases

  • Communicate inspection findings and recommendations with customers

  • Partner with Sales and Operations to deliver an exceptional customer experience

  • Follow all company and customer safety requirements

  • Participate in ongoing technical training and earn industry certifications

What Success Looks Like

At CHT, technical ability is only part of the job.

The people who thrive here are those who:

  • Take ownership and follow through on commitments

  • Communicate clearly and honestly

  • Take pride in doing quality work—not just finishing quickly

  • Solve problems instead of passing them along

  • Treat customers and teammates with professionalism and respect

  • Continue learning and improving their skills

  • Understand that every interaction helps build trust with our customers

We believe every employee contributes to our culture. No matter your role, we're one team working toward one mission.

Travel

This position requires overnight travel approximately 70–90% of the time, with most travel occurring Monday through Friday.

While this role does not require reporting to our corporate office each day, it is not a work-from-home position. Your workplace is in the field, serving hospitals and healthcare facilities across the country.

Compensation
  • Competitive compensation, depending on experience

  • Company-paid training and professional certifications, including ASSE credentials

  • Opportunities for career advancement and professional growth

Benefits

We believe investing in our people is one of the best investments we can make.

Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance

  • Life Insurance

  • 100% Employer-Paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability

  • Accident and Critical Illness Insurance

  • LegalEase

  • 401(k) with Company Match

  • Paid Holidays

  • Paid Time Off

  • Paid Training and Professional Development

  • Company Vehicle

  • Company Phone

  • Company-provided tools and equipment

Is This Role Right for You?

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Enjoy working with your hands and solving mechanical problems

  • Like traveling and working independently

  • Take pride in producing quality work

  • Are dependable and keep your commitments

  • Communicate well with customers and teammates

  • Want a career with purpose—not just another job

  • Enjoy learning new skills and growing professionally

No medical gas experience? That's okay. If you bring mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn, we'll provide the training to help you build a successful career.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • One to three years of stable work history

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Drive

  • Ability to obtain required professional certifications (company paid)

  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record

  • Ability to pass required background checks, motor vehicle record checks, and drug screenings

  • Ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements, including required vaccinations, TB testing, and other customer-specific health requirements

  • Ability to responsibly maintain company-issued equipment, including a vehicle, iPhone, credit card, and tools

Why CHT?

Our customers trust us because we care about the details.

Our employees stay because we care about the people behind the work.

We're building a culture where accountability and support go hand in hand, where communication is honest, where departments work together instead of in silos, and where every person has the opportunity to grow.

If you're looking for meaningful work, a team that has your back, and a company committed to building something special, we'd love to talk with you.

Different Roles. One Mission. One CHT.

CHT is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for all employees.
