About the role

The Global Design Lead is responsible for defining and elevating the visual standard of Global Production Studios across all creative output.

This role acts as the creative taste-maker and visual authority across the business, providing creative direction and feedback on campaign work, social content, branded content, pitch materials, motion design, and video executions.

The successful candidate combines exceptional creative judgement with deep cultural awareness, bringing a strong point of view on design, storytelling, internet culture, emerging trends, and visual communication. They are expected to challenge ideas, advocate for stronger creative solutions, and help shape work that feels culturally relevant, distinctive, and creatively ambitious.

What you'll do

Creative Leadership & Visual Direction
  • Own and elevate the visual standard across all Global Production Studios (GPS) output, including video, design, presentations, social content, and campaign creative
  • Act as the final creative reviewer for high-profile and high-visibility work
  • Provide clear creative direction and visual feedback to designers, editors, producers, and creatives
  • Shape visual storytelling, creative concepts, and execution approaches across multiple content formats
  • Champion strong creative thinking and push teams beyond safe or expected solutions
  • Confidently articulate and defend creative decisions with stakeholders, clients, and internal teams
  • Establish and maintain visual frameworks, creative principles, and quality benchmarks across GPS
Culture & Trends
  • Maintain deep awareness of internet culture, digital behaviour, platform trends, emerging creators, design movements, and visual storytelling techniques
  • Identify emerging creative trends before they become mainstream and translate them into actionable creative opportunities
  • Regularly bring inspiration, references, and cultural insights into the creative process
  • Help ensure Amplify’s work feels contemporary, culturally relevant, and differentiated from competitors

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in design, art direction, creative direction, visual communications, or related creative disciplines
  • Proven experience leading creative development across multiple formats, including social content, video, branded content, presentations, campaigns, and digital experiences
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual taste, creative judgement, and conceptual thinking across a range of brands and platforms
  • Deep understanding of internet culture, social platforms, creator ecosystems, and emerging visual trends
  • Experience providing creative direction and feedback to multidisciplinary teams, including designers, editors, producers, and creatives
  • Ability to confidently articulate, defend, and present creative decisions to internal stakeholders, clients, and leadership teams
  • Strong understanding of design systems, visual storytelling, typography, composition, motion, and brand identity principles
  • Experience working within fast-paced agency, media, publisher, creator, or entertainment environments preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to balance creative ambition with commercial objectives and platform best practices
  • Highly proactive, curious, and culturally engaged, with a passion for identifying trends, behaviours, and creative opportunities before they become mainstream
