PURPOSE AND SCOPE
As a Laser Operator, you will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing process by operating laser cutting and engraving equipment to produce high-quality components and products. Your precision, attention to detail, and technical expertise will be essential in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our laser operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Operate Laser Equipment: Utilize laser cutting and engraving machines to cut, engrave, or mark materials according to precise specifications.
- Setup and Calibration: Set up and calibrate laser equipment, ensuring proper alignment, focus, and power settings for optimal performance.
- Material Preparation: Prepare materials for laser processing, including loading and unloading raw materials onto the machine bed and securing them in place.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of laser-cut components, inspecting finished products for defects, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment, including cleaning lenses, replacing parts, and troubleshooting technical issues to ensure continuous operation.
- Adherence to Safety Protocols: Strictly adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating laser equipment, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Workstation Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including proper storage of materials, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Documentation: Record production data, including job settings, material usage, and any quality issues encountered during the manufacturing process.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with colleagues in the production team, including supervisors, engineers, and other operators, to optimize workflow and meet production targets.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, suggesting modifications to equipment, procedures, or workflows to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating laser cutting and engraving equipment, including knowledge of machine setup, operation, and maintenance procedures.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to work with precision and accuracy, ensuring that finished products meet exact specifications and quality standards.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues.
- Safety Consciousness: Strong commitment to workplace safety, with a thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures for operating laser equipment.
- Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: Prior experience operating laser cutting or engraving equipment in a manufacturing or production setting required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical training or certification in laser technology or related fields is a plus.
