We are seeking a senior product leader to build and own the data foundation powering advanced AI simulation solutions.
This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, data engineering, scientific innovation, and responsible data management.
You will define the roadmap for a platform that enables secure, scalable, and reliable data workflows across complex scientific applications.
Working closely with engineering, research, design, and compliance teams, you will transform complex data challenges into impactful products.
You will influence how datasets are collected, governed, shared, and used to accelerate breakthroughs in industries such as life sciences and advanced materials.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on product expert who thrives in ambiguity, values ownership, and wants to contribute to transformative technology.

Accountabilities:

As the Principal Technical Product Manager, you will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of a data platform designed to support scientific discovery and AI-driven applications. You will lead through product expertise and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that data systems are scalable, secure, measurable, and aligned with customer and partner needs.

  • Define and manage the data platform roadmap, including data ingestion, automated detection, schema reconciliation, and lineage capabilities.
  • Own the product experience for partner data ingestion workflows, ensuring external datasets become usable quickly and reliably.
  • Develop solutions for dataset provenance, sensitivity classification, governance, and field-of-use controls.
  • Partner with scientific and engineering teams to design experiment integration APIs and scalable data workflows.
  • Build products that enable secure, federated data management and responsible data sharing across partners.
  • Establish key success metrics, including dataset usability timelines, automation accuracy, and data lineage completeness.
  • Translate complex technical and scientific challenges into clear product strategies and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, research, design, security, and compliance stakeholders to deliver high-impact platform capabilities.
  • Advocate for customer and partner needs throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced technical product leader with deep knowledge of data platforms, governance, and developer-facing products. You should be comfortable working across technical and scientific teams, turning complex requirements into scalable solutions, and driving product decisions in an innovative environment.

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with strong expertise in data platforms, data infrastructure, or data governance.
  • Hands-on understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data catalogs, metadata management, and data lineage systems.
  • Experience designing developer-facing APIs, ingestion tools, or technical platform products.
  • Proven ability to define and implement data governance frameworks, including access controls, sensitivity classification, and usage restrictions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to create structure from ambiguous, cross-functional challenges.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with scientific data formats such as HDF5, SDF, CSV, or JSON-LD is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of federated learning, intellectual property sharing considerations, or research data ecosystems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulated data environments and standards such as HIPAA, FedRAMP, GDPR, SOC 2, GxP, or 21 CFR Part 11 is beneficial.
  • Experience supporting audit processes, compliance workflows, or evidence-based data exports is an advantage.
  • MBA or equivalent business experience is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package with a base salary range of CA$136,000–CA$240,000 depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
  • Performance-based incentives or bonuses where applicable.
  • Equity participation opportunities.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and eligible dependents.
  • Employer-supported retirement savings programs with company matching.
  • Paid parental leave and inclusive family-building benefits.
  • Fully remote work environment with flexible work arrangements.
  • Flexible paid time off and company-wide seasonal breaks.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning, professional development, and cross-functional growth.
  • Opportunity to contribute to technology that accelerates scientific discovery and creates meaningful real-world impact.
  • Collaborative global environment with multidisciplinary experts across AI, science, engineering, and technology.
