Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED or equivalent years of education. No experience required.Valid State of Texas Driver's License.

Phlebotomist performs collection of blood samples through the use of skin puncture and venipuncture techniques.
Job Duties:
Salary Range: Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
19.99 hours or less per week, no set schedule.

Job Summary:
Phlebotomist performs collection of blood samples through the use of skin puncture and venipuncture techniques.
Job Duties:
- Properly identifies patient, draws blood samples and sends to laboratory for analysis.
- Identifies patients according to hospital protocol prior to specimen collection.
- Assesses problems related to transport of specimens, laboratory data, and difficult blood collections and determines appropriate action.
- Ensure that blood is properly acquired by means of venipuncture, skin puncture, or arterial collection.
- May transport the specimen to the correct laboratory.
- May be required to utilize company vehicle for business purposes (i.e., specimen collection or delivery), after completion of required safety training.
- Maintains collection areas and equipment and performs record keeping duties.
- Reviews and suggests revisions for policies and procedures, as assigned.
- Adheres to all safety protocols in each laboratory area.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
