Position Summary

Responsible for managing and maintaining the overall quality program for a steel fabrication shop supporting highway construction projects. Leads, develops, and holds the CWI and Quality team accountable through strong leadership, coaching, training, and clear expectations.

Oversees all inspection activities, welding quality, quality documentation, and compliance with project specifications, AWS/AASHTO requirements, AISC standards, and applicable DOT requirements. Responsible for leading and coordinating AISC certification audits, maintaining compliance with AISC Quality Program requirements, and developing, implementing, and maintaining project-specific Quality Control Plans (WQCPs).

Coordinates CWI inspections, reviews WPS/PQRs and welder qualifications, monitors fabrication processes, and ensures quality issues and nonconformances are identified, documented, and resolved in a timely manner. Maintains accurate quality records and ensures inspection and documentation requirements are consistently met.

Works closely with Production, Engineering, Project Management, customers, third-party inspectors, and DOT representatives to resolve quality issues and maintain project compliance. Promotes a strong quality culture throughout the organization while ensuring projects meet all quality requirements from material receipt and fabrication through final inspection, customer acceptance, and delivery.

You don't have to already be a Quality Manager to be successful in this position. If you are an experienced CWI who understands structural steel fabrication, has strong leadership skills, and is ready to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you.
