About This Position
About the Role
The Development Department is dedicated to building meaningful relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations that share our vision and support our mission. Our work strengthens NECC’s long-term sustainability by securing unrestricted funding and cultivating strategic partnerships that advance our excellence.
We are seeking an organized, mission-driven Assistant Director of Development to join our team. This individual will foster and deepen donor relationships (including among parent communities), manage our Boston Marathon and Falmouth Road Race charity teams, and provide key support to both the President’s Council and the Young Professionals Group. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic fundraising professional who excels in relationship-building and stewardship.
What You Will Do
Build and strengthen relationships with current parents, prospective donors, and new supporters
Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with assigned prospects
Solicit contributions and support annual giving goals
Document all prospect interactions and progress updates in the donor database.
Steward gifts throughout the year, providing timely and personalized updates to donors
Lead the management of NECC’s charity running teams (Boston Marathon and Falmouth Road Race), including recruitment, communication, and fundraising support
Support the activities and engagement of the President’s Council and Young Professionals Group
What You Bring
2+ years of professional fundraising experience
Bachelor’s degree required
Demonstrated understanding of development and fundraising best practices
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Excellent time management, organization, and follow-through
Proficiency with LinkedIn and experience using CRM or donor management software
Polished, professional presence with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
High attention to detail, dependability, and a strong sense of accountability
