PRMC Lab Histology Summer Clinical Intern at Parkview Health – Fort Wayne, Indiana

This Summer Internahip Position will be helping with clerical work in the pathology department. This job will include filing, organizing, and helping with pulling materials. The jobs will vary from day to day.

This student intern must have a specific skillset that is focused on attention to detail and can work with people or independent.

Pathology or any other health science program would be the best fit for this internship. The shift can vary depending on availability M-F 830 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Must meet one of the following requirements current CNA EMT or Paramedic certification or must take Parkview’s Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire 2 years’ experience in a healthcare related field training time will be determined based on experience currently enrolled in nursing school having completed first clinical rotations if hired prior to 12/3/18 two (2) years military medical experience will be accepted. Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire. CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred or must have the equivalent of health care experience and education two (2) years previous experience in a nursing support role OR a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation on an extended care or inpatient nursing unit (nursing school transcripts required). Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). If assigned to the Parkview Randallia Family Birthing Center must be bonded as a notary public within 6 months of hire. Previous experience is preferred in direct patient care through work and/or school program. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must have a working knowledge of computer skills and applications. Demonstrates ability to critically think. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds.
