About This Position
The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach will be responsible for facilitating the academic, athletic and overall growth of every Women’s Volleyball student athlete, under the direct guidance of the Athletic Director. Additionally, this individual will work with the Athletic Director to continually assess and elevate the program’s status in the areas of academics, recruiting, budget, tracking, and reporting, equipment ordering, marketing, public relations, departmental compliance and facility management.

DIMENSIONS
This position will be in control of meal money for road games, along with control of the college credit card. The person who obtains this position will also be responsible for recommending supplies, uniforms and other items needed for the women’s volleyball team
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
| 1. | Coaches and teaches the game of volleyball. |
| 2. | Schedules and runs organized practices. |
| 3. | Works alongside the Athletic Director to schedule games. |
| 4. | Hires an assistant coach that has knowledge of the game and is responsible for duties as assigned by the head coach. |
| 5. | Maintains knowledge of the governing bylaws, constitution and rules of the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference, OCCAC and the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association, NJCAA. |
| 7. | Manages the travel, supply, scholarship and equipment budget. |
| 8. | Conducts fundraising activities, community service, camps and clinics for the women’s volleyball team. |
| 9. | Transports the team to away games using college vans. |
| 10. | Provides student athletes support to transition to the next level of competition and/or education. |
| 11. | All other duties assigned by supervisor |
| SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES ·Will supervise assistant(s) coaches. |
| EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE ·High School Diploma or GED is required, Bachelor or Master’s Degree Preferred. ·Have at least 2-3 years of coaching at the Intercollegiate or High School level. ·Effective Leadership, Communication, Coaching and Recruiting Skills are preferred. ·Knowledge of the game is a necessity. |

| CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS ·Valid Ohio Driver’s License and (pass the College Online Driving Skills course) |
| LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, faculty, and students. |
| MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. |
| REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. |
| PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. |
| WORK ENVIRONMENT The work is performed in an office-like environment with a minimal amount of noise. Occasional travel required to visit various military units and/or organizations. |
