About the Role:

As our Administrative Specialist III - Procurement, you'll be a key part of the Public Works Department's operations. This role is vital to our procurement and contracting activities, giving you the opportunity to interact with City staff, vendors, contractors, and citizens. You'll play an integral part in the efficient functioning of our city and contribute to a friendly and collaborative workplace.

**What You’ll Do:**

  • Provide complex administrative support to management and staff.

  • Research, analyze, and maintain vital data records.

  • Manage financial records, track payments, and streamline processes.

  • Coordinate meetings and organize workspaces.

  • Draft correspondence, reports, and presentations.

  • Handle procurement and contracting activities with stakeholders.

  • Assist with bid documents, legal paperwork, and project file maintenance.

  • Track division contracts and important deadlines.

  • Support department staff in procurement policies.

  • Administer contracts and ensure regulatory compliance.

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The hiring range is $27.04 - $30.04/hour.

High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
At least five years of experience providing administrative support that includes the use of personal computers; a strong customer service is required. Procurement and contracting experience are a plus.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

Knowledge of:
  • Business writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proper word usage at a higher level
  • Office procedures and practices to include appropriate record keeping
  • Commerce City and municipal government functions
  • All Microsoft Office software at the advanced level
