Position Description

We are looking for adaptable, driven individuals who desire to be part of a dynamic team with company values centered around teamwork, ownership, and professionalism.

Essential Duties:

  1. Ensures that all team members for whom the Superintendent is responsible, as well as other team members with whom he, or she, has contact, support and adhere to the M-K safety culture and related safety policies and practices.
  2. Assists Project Managers in planning for the successful fulfillment of construction projects, by performing various duties.
  3. Supervises the on-site aspects of assigned construction projects to support the fulfillment of the projects as designed, on time and within budget by performing a variety of duties.
  4. Reviews all work for compliance with all federal, state, city and county codes, regulations and other matters.
  5. Aggressively pursues opportunities to foster and grow relationships with current customers and referral sources and position the company for future sales; looks for opportunities for business development for other Groups within M-K.
  6. Proactively, professionally and with a team-focused attitude collaborates and communicates with members of management and team members throughout the Group and the company, in order to integrate activities and achieve goals for the acquisition, retention and growth of client relationships and toward meeting the growth and profitability objectives for the Group and the company.
  7. Fulfills all requirements relating to maintaining accurate, complete and organized records; provides a wide variety of reports to appropriate parties, as requested and required.
  8. Provides mentoring and training support to Assistant Superintendents and other field team members, including competency development, professionalism and career development.
  9. Supports and, as appropriate, actively participates in industry and superintendent discipline construction management groups and events, in order to project a positive image of the company.
  10. Complies with established company operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
  11. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
  12. Responds to inquiries or requests relating to his/her particular area within given time frames and within established policy.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.


Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Proficient reading, writing, grammar and analytical skills;
  2. visioning, planning and forecasting abilities;
  3. proficient work management, people management, leadership and coaching abilities;
  4. intimate knowledge and understanding of construction project supervision and oversight and the relationship between effective project supervision processes and project profitability;
  5. an entrepreneurial drive and inclination toward growing customer and referral network relationships;
  6. proficient computer skills and the demonstrated ability to use project management software applications;
  7. capability to effectively oversee and supervise projects and a drive to achieve and produce results on time;
  8. proficient interpersonal relations and communications skills;
  9. collaborative and generative attitudes and abilities toward working as part of a team;
  10. visual and auditory skills;
  11. valid driver's license.

Education / Experience:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. A college degree in construction preferred
  3. Specific training and education focused on the construction project management discipline
  4. Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  5. CPR and Standard First Aid training/certification mandatory.
  6. OSHA training required.
  7. Green card for SCE preferred.
