Position: Commissary - Kitchen Prep Cook

At Joseph’s Classic Market, our commissary kitchen is where our gourmet prepared foods begin. Our Kitchen Prep Cooks are responsible for expertly preparing high-quality meals that serve as the foundation for our signature dishes. With a focus on quality, consistency, and efficiency, this team follows recipes to ensure every dish meets our high standards before being delivered to our stores.

Routine Tasks:

• Maintain Joseph’s standards for product freshness and sanitation
• Prepare and execute Joseph’s recipes for various proteins, vegetables, starches, etc.
• Package and label products
• Operate knives, ovens, stoves, grills, scales, wrapping machine and other Kitchen equipment
• Assist with other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to read, write, and do simple math problems
• Ability to interpret and follow instructions
• Ability to work well with others
• Must be able to speak Spanish
• Food preparation experience
• A passion for serving people

A Kitchen Prep Cook performs their tasks primarily in the Commissary department. Work involves walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting products weighing up to 80 pounds. Work is done inside a preparation room and a refrigerated cooler, you will be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work also includes frequent interaction with fellow employees.
