As a Behavior Specialist Consultant, you'll play a vital role in developing and implementing individualized behavioral support strategies that promote personal growth, independence, and overall quality of life. You'll work collaboratively with direct support staff, leadership, and other professionals to create positive, lasting outcomes for the individuals we serve.

This is an opportunity to put your expertise into action while being part of a mission-driven organization that values safety, respect, connection, and integrity.

  • Assess Behavioral Needs: Conduct observations, analyze behavioral data, and collaborate with team members to identify behavioral patterns, individual needs, and effective intervention strategies.
  • Empower and Educate Staff: Provide training, coaching, and guidance to Direct Support Professionals and other team members on positive behavioral interventions, Mandt techniques, and effective support strategies.
  • Monitor Progress and Outcomes: Evaluate the effectiveness of behavioral support programs, maintain accurate documentation, and make adjustments to promote continued success.
  • Promote Safety and Well-Being: Provide crisis intervention and behavioral support when necessary, utilizing safe, respectful, and person-centered approaches.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with psychologists, psychiatrists, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated, comprehensive support.
  • Support Quality and Compliance: Ensure behavioral programs meet applicable regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor Behavioral and Medication-Related Changes: Observe and document behavioral changes, including potential effects of psychoactive medications, and communicate relevant concerns to appropriate team members.

Who You Are

You're a compassionate, resourceful, and motivated professional who believes that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and understanding. You approach challenges with patience, creativity, and a solutions-focused mindset.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy empowering others through education and guidance, and are committed to helping individuals achieve their personal goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in behavioral intervention and support.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to assess behavioral needs, analyze information, and develop effective intervention strategies.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to behavioral crises and teach physical intervention techniques.
  • Proficiency with computers, documentation systems, and standard office technology.
