The Staff Attorney, under direction of General Counsel, provides advice and legal representation on a broad range of legal matters including rendering verbal and written advice on legal subjects; recommending legal strategic and tactical initiatives; working with the General Counsel to define strategies for defending EAMC or for filing actions on behalf of EAMC; interprets and implements constitutional, statutory, and administrative rule requirements; negotiates and advises on contracts, acquisitions and other transactional matters; assists General Counsel with risk management strategies, insurance issues and claims; and provides training and assistance in the development of policies, procedures, and programs. The Staff Attorney should stay abreast of legal matters, laws and regulations which may affect or impact EAMC; conduct healthcare related legal research and policy development on general healthcare matters, compliance and regulatory matters; and other legal and health care issues as directed by the General Counsel.
