Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Benefit Consultant to join our Employee Benefits team. This role is responsible for serving as a trusted advisor to large employer groups, developing benefits strategies, and managing both self-funded and fully insured plans. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience with large group benefits and demonstrated expertise in self-funded health plans, including stop-loss arrangements and cost-containment strategies. Work Arrangement: This is a full-time, remote position reporting to our office based in Hudson, NY.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead consultant for assigned large group accounts, guiding HR and executive teams on benefits strategy.
  • Design and analyze self-funded and fully insured health plan options, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
  • Negotiate renewals with carriers and stop-loss vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports, benchmarking analyses, and strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal account management, compliance, and wellness teams to provide comprehensive client support.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, legislation, and emerging solutions in employee benefits.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in employee benefits consulting, with a focus on large group (100+ employees).
  • Proven experience with self-funded health plans and stop-loss coverage.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits compliance requirements.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field (CEBS or similar certification a plus).
  • Motivated to continually improve personal knowledge, client satisfaction, and the product itself.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite and products
  • A passion for being part of a team that drives our company to industry leadership
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both peers and clients
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year depending on experience

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
