Machinist in Axis, Alabama at SMS group Inc

Location: Axis, AL

Schedule: Monday-Friday 6AM-4PM / Occasional Saturdays 6AM-2PM

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate both CNC and manual machinery for use in metal working applications.
• Operate and know the functions of Fanuc/Mazatrol controllers, load and run CNC programs.
• Read and interpret G and M code programs.
• Blueprint reading and interpretation
• Calculate tolerances from drawings and convert to/from metric/standard.
• Use and read precise measuring tools.
• Perform daily maintenance check of machine.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-3 Years of CNC experience
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to use precision measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret G & M-Code.

Physical Demands

• Stoop, kneel and bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
• Lift and move up to 40 pounds
• Remain in a standing or walking position for extended periods on a daily basis.
