LINE PREP FT/PT in KNOXVILLE, Tennessee at Buddys Bar-B-Q

We’re looking for an energetic and detail-oriented Line Prep to support our kitchen team by preparing fresh ingredients and keeping our line running smoothly. As a key part of our back-of-house crew, you’ll help ensure every guest receives high-quality, crave-worthy food—fast. If you thrive in a fast casual setting and love working behind the scenes to make great food happen, we’d love to meet you!

Responsibilities include:

• Prepping and portioning ingredients according to recipes and daily prep lists
• Labeling, dating, and storing food properly to maintain freshness and safety
• Setting up and stocking the line before and during service
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary prep area
• Supporting cooks with prep and restocking throughout shifts
• Assisting with end-of-day clean-up and storage procedures

Job Requirements:

• Prior kitchen or prep experience preferred, but not required—willing to train the right person
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe a plus)
• Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and stay organized under pressure
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
• Must be able to lift up to 15-20 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings
