About This Position

The Operations Supervisor leads and manages Warehouse Operations to meet goals and objectives for store sales, warehouse efficiencies, safety, and customer service. The Operations Supervisor manages all general material handling duties, cycle counting, inventory records accuracy, and the picking and staging of orders. They maximize warehouse operational performance by managing warehouse team members with exceptional leadership skills. The Operations Supervisor maximizes operational performance through proven leadership skills to manage and coach team members in delivery and warehouse support. Essential Functions:

  • Leads daily branch warehouse operations
  • Implements strategies for increasing and driving efficiencies throughout the warehouse
  • Assists Counter and Warehouse team as needed to serve customers and provide solutions
  • Responds to customer inquiries on products, applications, and conducts research that may be required
  • Establishes, communicates, and models performance expectations for all store team members
  • Provides individual performance and coaching discussions as needed
  • Takes corrective action and recognizes and rewards employees as needed
  • Ensures team members are up-to-date and knowledgeable regarding store operations, policy changes, company changes, etc., by holding regular meetings and communicating safety rules
  • Ensures adequate staffing levels to meet business needs by establishing work schedules and managing time-off requests
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or a GED is required • One to three years of experience and/or training or a combination of education and experience
  • Material handlers require certification and continuous training to operate heavy-lifting machinery like forklifts
  • Ability to be certified in forklift operation
  • Strong understanding of HVAC products, processes, services, customers, and decision-makers preferred
  • A valid state driver's license and safe driving record required
  • General knowledge of inventory systems (knowledge of RF-based systems a plus)

  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting, moving, and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Keyboarding for long periods
  • Clarity of vision at approximately 20-36 inches
  • Ability to push/pull inventory items
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally crawl in confined spaces
