About This Position
Empower Tranportation
Empac Group, Inc. is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Transportation Driver to provide dependable transportation services for individuals with disabilities. This role is essential to helping participants access programs, employment opportunities, and community activities while ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
This position is part-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate agency vehicles to transport individuals with disabilities to and from programs, work sites, and community locations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, including use of wheelchair lifts or safety systems when needed.
- Follow scheduled routes and maintain timeliness while adapting to changes as necessary.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and incident reports.
- Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and respect when working with passengers, families, and staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class E driver's license with an acceptable driving record - agency will pay to obtain.
- Prior experience transporting individuals with disabilities or other vulnerable populations preferred.
- Ability to safely operate wheelchair lifts and tie-down systems (training provided if needed).
- Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to pass required background/driving record checks, drug screenings, and trainings.
