Accountabilities:

As a Policy Specialist, you will play a central role in evaluating, drafting, and improving policies while supporting team leadership:

  • Develop, draft, and edit policies and policy-related materials, including guidance documents and standard operating procedures.
  • Consult closely with policy owners, stakeholders, and legal experts to ensure clarity, compliance, and operational alignment.
  • Facilitate productive client interactions, including meetings, working groups, and individual consultations.
  • Assist the assigned task lead with scheduling, coordination, and administrative support.
  • Support the preparation and communication of policy deliverables for client review.
  • Track task progress, assess compliance with implementation plans, and ensure milestones are met.
  • Build and maintain trusted partnerships with client leadership and stakeholders to advance policy objectives.
  • Contribute to process improvements, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for streamlining policy management.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines policy expertise, consulting experience, and strong communication skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in policy, management, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience, preferably supporting government agencies.
  • Proven experience in operations support, policy development, or program implementation within a federal or regulatory environment.
  • Ability to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex policy recommendations clearly.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a client-first mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and familiarity with project management best practices.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and remain flexible in response to evolving client needs.
