This role offers the opportunity to shape and streamline critical policies and procedures for a major federal agency. As a Policy Specialist, you will assess, draft, and update policy content, ensuring clarity, compliance, and operational efficiency. You will work closely with policy owners, stakeholders, legal experts, and labor relations specialists to provide actionable recommendations, improve policy management, and eliminate redundancies. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, virtual environment. You will support leadership in coordinating team activities, tracking progress, and delivering high-quality outputs that enhance organizational effectiveness. As a Policy Specialist, you will play a central role in evaluating, drafting, and improving policies while supporting team leadership:
- Develop, draft, and edit policies and policy-related materials, including guidance documents and standard operating procedures.
- Consult closely with policy owners, stakeholders, and legal experts to ensure clarity, compliance, and operational alignment.
- Facilitate productive client interactions, including meetings, working groups, and individual consultations.
- Assist the assigned task lead with scheduling, coordination, and administrative support.
- Support the preparation and communication of policy deliverables for client review.
- Track task progress, assess compliance with implementation plans, and ensure milestones are met.
- Build and maintain trusted partnerships with client leadership and stakeholders to advance policy objectives.
- Contribute to process improvements, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for streamlining policy management.
The ideal candidate combines policy expertise, consulting experience, and strong communication skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in policy, management, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience, preferably supporting government agencies.
- Proven experience in operations support, policy development, or program implementation within a federal or regulatory environment.
- Ability to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex policy recommendations clearly.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a client-first mindset.
- Exceptional organizational skills and familiarity with project management best practices.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and remain flexible in response to evolving client needs.
- Competitive salary range: $80,000–$130,000 USD.
