About This Position
Summary of Responsibilities:
Ensures the accuracy and quality of all products that are shipped from Vienna Beef by working alongside production to conduct on-the-line checks of product specifications and quality standards.
- GMP’s – Visual Inspection and enforce GMP’s throughout the facility, QA Lab Daily GMP Audit – especially packaging
- Check the Quaternary Ammonium concentration levels in the Foot Baths and Foot Foamers
- Monitors and places areas on hold if drains back up
- Monitor the sanitation requirements for maintenance repairs, equipment downtime
- Performs metal detection, check weights, and packaging/case integrity, calibrate thermometers.
- Monitors employee and machine performance during operational inspections.
- Prepares and takes samples
- Monitors the storage and transfer of packaging supplies, ensuring they meet sanitation requirements.
- Follow Hold Procedure & Quarantine process.
- Verify and conducts temperature checks through facility
- Conducts Metal detector calibration
- End of shift room release for sanitation
- Thermometer calibration and Scale calibrations
- Production Inspection
- Perform all duties that maybe assigned
Detailed Responsibilities:
QA technicians will refer to Standard Operating Procedures
Issue Escalation:
- Promptly notifies QA Manager or Vice President of Quality Assurance when quality issues arise or safety concerns.
Attitude and Attendance:
- Arrives to work at scheduled time and follows time off request procedure
- Communicates with co-workers in a professional manner
- Treats co-workers with respect at all times
- Uses teamwork with working with production throughout the day
General Responsibilities:
- Follow the facility GMP’s and help enforce them throughout the facility
- Support the efforts of the company to maintain our food safety system (SQF) and quality programs
Communication:
- Seek the guidance of your supervisor if in doubt of any circumstance or problem.
- Directly contact your supervisor an hour prior to start time if you cannot work a scheduled shift.
- Contact maintenance personnel when minor repairs to equipment are required.
- Contact maintenance personnel and supervisor when major repairs to equipment are required.
Knowledge:
- Have knowledge of all company documented Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Have knowledge of all company documented Hazardous Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP/SQF).
- Have knowledge of companies’ sanitation procedures and inspection process.
- Qualify and comply with companies forklift training and operation policies.
- Have knowledge of finished product specifications.

- Previous experience working in food quality.
- Bilingual - Spanish
Education:
- General high school degree, or equivalent, (e.g. GED). High school diploma is preferred
- Up to one year of post-high school training such as in a business school, community college or vocational training.
