Job Description
Job Title: Quality Control Specialist
Reports to: Senior Supply Chain Manager
FLSA Status: Full-time; Non Exempt
Location: Michigan City, IN (Headquarters)
Purpose
The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring all product at Peepers' Distribution Center meets Peepers' quality standards through hands-on inspection, accurate documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. This role supports both QC operations and reporting functions, and specific duties will be assigned based on team need.

Responsibilities:
QC Operations
Assist the receiving team in initial quality control of inbound shipments upon arrival.
Perform AQL tiered-level quality control checks after initial QC has been completed.
Perform routine QC checks on in-stock inventory.
Execute QC checks on triggered items, including but not limited to barcode scanning issues, customer feedback, and product development concerns.
Perform corrective tasks (i.e., relabeling) to ensure product is in sellable condition
QC Reporting & Compliance
Use Excel-based QC reporting to log all issues, defective quantities, and QC time spent.
Communicate QC findings, including Excel-based reports and Corrective Action Plans, to relevant stakeholders and manufacturers.
Present or support the monthly QC Report during inventory meetings with the Senior Leadership Team.
Serve as a point of contact to ensure all production samples are sent and approved prior to shipment leaving the factory
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Participate in weekly Supply Chain meetings to discuss current QC findings and issues.
Work with Product Development (PD) to ensure one approved "Keep" sample of each style is maintained in QC as a quality standard.
Work with the inventory team to ensure inventory adjustments related to QC are complete and accurate.
Lab Operations — Lens Cutting
Participate in lens cutting training and rotation to maintain proficiency and readiness for lab coverage.
Serve as a backfill for lens cutting during planned lab staff absences (e.g., PTO), ensuring no disruption to operations.
Coordinate with the lab operator and supervisor in advance of planned absences to ensure a smooth handoff and continuity of operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in quality control, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with data logging and reporting.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Clear, concise communication style.
Thrives in a team environment and enjoys building cross-functional relationships.
•Ability to perform hands-on physical tasks in a distribution center environment
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Communication with coworkers requires an ability to express oneself as well as perceive and exchange ideas
• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus - essential for inspecting product quality and detail
Viewing computer terminal, perceiving, and transcribing data with accuracy and keyboarding fill a portion of the day in a warehouse environment
Walking while carrying objects, crouching, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching with hands and arms, and grasping objects fill a portion of the day in a warehouse environment
Light work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Required to stand; walk; sit for long durations
Manual dexterity for lens cutting and hands-on product inspection
Exposure to lens cutting equipment
