Part-Time Bilingual Help 365 Bronx Case Manager (English/Spanish)Location: Bronx, NY

Last year, we assisted over 764,000 visitors, served over 11.7 million meals, and accessed $10.7 million in public benefits resources for our guests. Through an array of programs that we offer, we look to establish long-term stability for those we serve.

The Part-Time Bilingual Help 365 Bronx Case Manager (English/Spanish) will assist with new individuals/families and existing Pantry Members to process intakes for the Choice Pantry Bronx program. This role will provide the membership cards and orient the members on the rules and regulations of the program. During the intake or re-certification process, the Part-Time Bilingual Help 365 Bronx Case Manager (English/Spanish) will also conduct screenings for entitlements and/or benefits; assist with acquiring benefits such as Food Stamps, Medicaid, Public Assistance, or Social Security Supplemental Income or make employment referrals; confirm acquisition of benefits and/or entitlements; and assist with accessing the appropriate resources to prevent families from being evicted from their homes.

The Part-Time Bilingual Help 365 Bronx Case Manager (English/Spanish) will report to the Managing Director of Programs at the 1290 Hoe Ave, Bronx, NY 10459 location. The schedule for this position is Tuesday - Saturday, 10 am to 3 pm. This is a part-time, non-exempt position, scheduled for up to 28 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake assessments for all new clients of New York Common Pantry and provide emergency pantry assistance as needed.

  • Screen clients using the ACCESS NYC benefits screening tool to determine eligibility for public benefits and entitlements.

  • Educate clients on available benefits and collaborate with them to identify which services to pursue through Help 365 case management.

  • Assist with and track applications for public benefits, including SNAP (Food Stamps) through the Human Resources Administration, ensuring timely follow-up.

  • Verify and document receipt of benefits and entitlements for each client.

  • Create and maintain accurate Pantry Membership records to support ongoing supplemental food assistance.

  • Perform annual recertifications and re-screenings to ensure continued eligibility for services and benefits.

  • Resolve membership-related issues, including lost, inactive, or incorrect membership cards.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records in the client database.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Full professional proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience preferred.

  • Commitment to helping the communities in need and NYCP’s work and mission.

  • Strong knowledge of public benefits, entitlements, and related systems.

  • Experience with case management databases strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets).

  • Strong data entry and spreadsheet skills, with the ability to learn new systems and software quickly.

  • Solid computer literacy and general administrative/clerical skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a respectful and culturally competent manner.

  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment.

  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
