As a Senior EMC Engineer Power Electronics, you will be responsible for designing EMC filters and ensuring compliance of power supply products for datacenter, industrial and telecommunication applications. You will be a part of the team that designs and develops innovative power supplies for high volume production. The projects include New Product Introduction (NPI), New Technology Introduction (NTI), Direct Material Productivity (DMP), resolving customer issues, and sustaining existing products. Reporting to the R&D/ Senior Technical Manager, this position will be expected to demonstrate leadership globally.
Your responsibilities include:
- Develop a strategy for EMI/ EMC for the next generation of AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, with focus on power density, efficiency and cost
- Propose EMI filter designs for new products and technology initiatives, to meet the FCC, CISPR and EN compliance requirements
- Provide guidelines and review the PCB layout design and wiring of the signal cables
- Define and lead experiments for troubleshooting EMC Emissions and Immunity issues
- Perform hands-on lab work to validate the simulations results against the measurements, and building and qualifying prototypes
- Prepare invention disclosures to protect intellectual property
- Mentor junior engineers
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Electronics or equivalent from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 3 years of EMC design experience for switch mode power supplies both conducted and radiated emissions
Desired Requirements:
- Experience in using laboratory equipment such as LISNs, spectrum analyzers, etc.
- Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Electronics preferred
- Experience with SiC and GaN devices-based power converters
- Strong PCB layout experience and familiarity with ANSYS Q3D
- Circuit simulations using PLECS/ PSPICE/ SIMPLIS/ SIMetrix
- High frequency magnetics design and simulations using ANSYS Maxwell
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to drive projects to completion
