Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Charlotte, Hybrid, requiring 2 to 3 days in the office

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to join our team in Charlotte in a hybrid work environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting compliance with payroll regulations and company policies.
As a Payroll Specialist, you will partner closely with the Payroll Manager to execute day-to-day payroll operations, including processing payroll, maintaining employee data, and supporting compliance-related activities. You will also serve as a key resource for employee payroll inquiries, helping to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality service across the organization.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and enjoys managing multiple payroll processes with precision. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute daily payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely employee payments
- Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, deductions, and changes
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Assist with payroll reporting and reconciliation processes
- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure data accuracy and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Support onboarding processes related to payroll setup and employee information updates
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred
- 1–3 years of payroll, HR, or accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with Paylocity or similar payroll systems
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, data entry, and multi-state payroll management
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
