Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of customer orders while supporting warehouse operations during daytime hours. The role supports efficient branch operations and helps maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. This is a part-time, daytime position based at our Torrington, CT branch, located at 790 Main Street.
Essential Functions:
Delivery & Driving Responsibilities
- Deliver a wide variety of items to customers on local routes
- Follow assigned routes and time schedules
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and safely operate a delivery vehicle
- Spend the majority of work hours seated while driving
- Complete required delivery logs and reports
- Follow DOT regulations and company safety standards
- Interact with customers on a daily basis in a professional manner
Warehouse & Order Handling
- Separate transfers and load them onto respective trucks
- Determine appropriate shipping methods according to company policy
- Locate transfers to complete orders and place them on corresponding trucks
- Ensure products and orders are placed on the correct trucks for delivery
- Receive inbound shipments and verify product accuracy against packing slips
- Inspect deliveries to ensure products are not damaged
- Process returns or replacements for unsatisfactory shipments
- Label deliveries and allocate products to designated storage locations
- Put product away into correct locations using a barcode reader
Equipment & Physical Requirements
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
- Ability to lift and move product during deliveries and warehouse operations, with equipment assistance
- Work in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
General Responsibilities
- Use basic computer and math skills to determine locations and quantities
- Read and interpret packing slips, computer screens, and barcode readers
- Manage time effectively to complete daily workload
- Practice teamwork to best service internal and external customers
- Assist warehouse personnel as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
- Remain current on safety practices and standards
- Perform other duties as required

Requirements:Experience, Education & Skills:
- Warehouse experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license (Non-CDL) and DOT medical card required
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Experience using forklifts, pallet jacks, barcode readers, and related equipment preferred
- Basic ability to use computers and standard warehouse systems
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Very heavy work. Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
