About the role
We are seeking a hands-on finance leader to support our franchise business. Reporting to the Division President and partnering closely with the corporate accounting team, this role is responsible for close, billing, collections, reporting, analysis, budgeting, and driving control improvements.
This position oversees the financial operations of approximately 70 franchisees and plays a critical role in ensuring accurate reporting, optimizing cash flow, and supporting data-driven decision-making. The Controller will also help strengthen processes, enhance reporting and accountability, and build scalable financial infrastructure to support continued growth.
What you'll do
- Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
- Prepare monthly reporting packages, including variance analysis and insights
- Oversee franchise billing, royalties, fees, collections, and receivables performance
- Manage accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger integrity
- Evaluate and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Coordinate annual audit activities and serve as primary liaison to external auditors
- Develop and enhance KPI reporting to drive operational and financial performance
- Partner on system and process improvements, including ERP transition from Sage 100 to NetSuite
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required)
- CPA or CMA strongly preferred
- 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with increasing responsibility in financial reporting and operations
- Prior experience as an Accounting Manager, Controller, or similar leadership role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and internal control frameworks
- Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes
- Experience supporting ERP implementations or system conversions (NetSuite preferred)
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail
- Franchise, royalty, or multi-unit business experience is a plus

The pay range for this role is:
130,000 - 150,000 USD per year(Garden Grove, CA)
