Job Description

Description:

OUR MISSION

Wellness Equity Alliance is a national multidisciplinary health organization that designs and delivers integrated, community-based care for populations most impacted by health inequities. We do this through mobile and field-based models, providing medical care, behavioral health services, substance use treatment, harm reduction, and care coordination in nontraditional settings such as encampments, schools, reentry sites, and rural communities as well as with sovereign tribal nations. Grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and data-driven practices, WEA combines clinical expertise, lived experience, and advanced population health analytics to reduce barriers to care, improve continuity, and strengthen local systems. We have partnered with more than 60 public agencies, managed care plans, and community-based organizations across the U.S. to implement scalable, sustainable programs that are advancing health equity and improving outcomes for historically marginalized populations

We are known as Renegades, Rebels, Disruptors and Dreamers. If that sounds like you we want you on our team.

Purpose of the position

The Healthcare Practice Manager will lead day-to-day operations and performance across clinical sites and mobile programs in California, including care provided in carceral facilities, public schools, and through street medicine teams. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, mission-aligned operations professional with deep experience managing diverse healthcare settings, strong regulatory knowledge, and a passion for serving vulnerable communities.

You will collaborate with leadership and frontline teams to implement operational best practices, ensure compliance, support staff development, and cultivate meaningful partnerships with community and institutional stakeholders.

  • Ensure each program operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations.
  • Develop and enforce operational workflows and procedures tailored to site-specific needs, including mobile outreach logistics and correctional facility requirements.
  • Coordinate supplies, equipment, scheduling, and facility or fleet maintenance.

Program & Staff Management

  • Supervise administrative personnel across multiple programs and support clinical leads with scheduling, communication, and coordination.
  • Provide operational support to mobile teams conducting street medicine outreach, ensuring staff safety, equipment readiness, and timely documentation.
  • Onboard, train, and evaluate team members with a focus on trauma-informed, culturally competent practices.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (including HIPAA, OSHA, Title 15, school health codes).
  • Participate in audits, contract reviews, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting metrics for each care setting.

Stakeholder & Partnership Engagement

  • Serve as the organizational liaison to school districts, correctional facilities, and community-based partners.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships that support integrated care delivery across clinical, educational, and street-based environments.
  • Represent the organization at site meetings, community forums, and public health initiatives.

Financial Oversight

  • Support site-specific budget development and monitor operating costs across programs.
  • Collaborate with billing and finance teams to streamline documentation, reimbursement, and revenue cycle operations.
