About This Position
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and engaging Manufacturing & Logistics Instructor to join our team and help shape the next generation of manufacturing professionals. In this role, you will deliver hands-on training equipping students with practical skills and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. In addition, you will serve as a liaison between our organization and industry partners, playing an essential role in building and maintaining strong, positive relationships. You will represent our program with professionalism and expertise, helping to strengthen our presence within the manufacturing community. Key Responsibilities:
*Demonstrate strong commitment to the Crossing’s mission, strategic plan, and students
*Model the Crossing’s Core Values and 7 Habits in effective leadership
*Form positive and appropriate relationships with students and engage with them regularly
*Supports strategic plan initiatives in the areas of funding, full-day programming, students served, and the Indiana Department of Education compliance.
*Fully participate in and implement Crossing Character programing with students
*Follow the Crossing foundational model for instruction, Work-based Learning programming and curriculum implementation.
*Deliver high-quality instruction in manufacturing processes, logistics systems, and related technologies.
*Teach topics such as production workflows, safety procedures, lean manufacturing, quality control, inventory management, and supply chain fundamentals.
*Incorporate hands-on training with equipment and tools commonly used in manufacturing and logistics environments.
*Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and certifications to ensure curriculum
*Ensure a safe, well-organized workshop environment in compliance with all safety standards (e.g., OSHA).
*Track student progress, provide assessments, and mentor students to support their development and success.
*Foster soft skills such as communication, time management, and responsibility that are essential in the construction industry.
*Collaborate with local industry partners to align training with current standards and possibly arrange guest speakers or job shadowing opportunities.
Qualifications:
**Proven experience in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain operations.
**Ability to translate complex technical processes into accessible instruction.
**Prior teaching or mentoring experience preferred; ability to engage and motivate high school students.
**Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
**Commitment to student development and safety.
**Teaching certification or willingness to obtain it (if required by the district).
