POSITION SUMMARY

Carpenters will work on our construction projects related to bridges, pile driving, retention, structural concrete, or general carpentry. Some required skills are following safety procedures, performing work safely, blueprint and spec reading, measurement, use of hand tools, use of large machines, forming, fabrication, construction, rigging and slinging, welding, signaling, scaffold constructing, and fastening. Carpenters perform a significant scope of work at Northland and the skills required align with the scope of work of the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

BENEFITS

Starting wage $42.25-$45.75/hour depending on Union Contract. Benefit package is offered through the Union. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, LIFE/ADD, long and short-term disability, member assistance, a pension plan, and a vacation fund.

1. Must be at least 18 years old.
2. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
3. Previous construction or physical job experience preferred.
4. Physically fit to stand, squat, bend, lift, and walk for long durations in all seasonal weather and environmental conditions in a moving highway work zone.
5. Ability to listen and take direction from others while being a team player and helping to train less experienced employees.
6. Ability to follow all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
7. Completion of additional project specific skills training as required.
