Position Summary
The MetroMarket Assistant Lead will be a vital member of the MetroMarket sales and customer service team, responsible for loading and transporting company goods in a safe and timely manner, managing on-site programming, cash and voucher processing, and staff management on-site and at the warehouse.
Essential Functions
MetroMarket Program
- Work closely with the MetroMarket team and OFS to meet community food and other related needs.
- Work with the MetroMarket Senior Manager to select appropriate items and ensure key products are in stock.
- Work with the MetroMarket Senior Manager to plan for voucher usage and processing.
- Work with the MetroMarket Senior Manager to ensure enough products are available for the influx of customers using vouchers.
- Assist the team with loading and unloading products on and off any MetroMarket vehicle.
- Drives transit vehicles to transport company goods.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Team Management
- Serve as the site lead on the vehicle route.
- Manage drivers, operations associates, and volunteers at each location ensuring processes are followed and issues are addressed.
- Ensure all MetroMarket staff and volunteers deliver excellent customer service to all community members, and an attractive and safe retail environment is maintained.
- Work with MetroMarket Senior Manager to address and improve the onsite programing experience.
- Attend weekly leadership meetings to communicate and improve the community and the employee experience.
Quality Control
- Ensure the highest levels of quality control, which includes being sure that all foods are fresh, safe, and visually appealing.
- Ensure that the MetroMarket vehicle and its surroundings are clean and free of debris at each site.
- Operate MetroMarket vehicle appliances such as refrigeration systems and diesel generators.
Cash Management
- Oversee accounting of cash generated at POS working with the MetroMarket Senior Manager.
- Ensure that all registers are accurately reconciled daily.
- Collect all money, record necessary reports for all registers, and ensure delivery to accounting daily.
- Provide feedback for monthly and weekly sales reports and overall site performance at meetings and as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· At least one year of previous customer service experience.
· Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
· Good knowledge of local roadways and traffic regulations.
· Working knowledge and experience using GPS system to navigate deliveries within the St. Louis area.
· Experience using Microsoft Office.
· ServSafe certification required for safe food handling, or ability to obtain certification within 2 weeks after start date.
· Must have Hep A vaccination or willingness to obtain vaccination prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications
· Prior experience as a company driver or a similar role.
· 1+ years of team lead, supervision or management experience; grocery retail a plus.
· Experience working in community health and/or foodservice.
Work Schedule & Working Conditions
· Must be available to work a varied but set schedule, 7am-7pm M-F with options Monday-Saturday.
· Works onsite at the warehouse and in the St. Louis community on market days.
Physical Demands
· Ability to stand for the majority of an 8-10 hour shift.
· Ability to stand for up to two hours at a time and lift 40 pounds.
· Ability to learn and retain delivery schedules and addresses.
